afterwards walked up home with Mae
Stull, who came for me - & staid all night. We
went to the grocery &c. & washed the dishes, and then had a nice
visit and Mae showed me all the
pretty new clothes she's been having made. She told me about
Otho & Cora
's troubles,
&c. &c. We went to bed about 11 (Mae
with me) and John came at two.
Nov. 1. 1896. Sunday
He'd been speaking at a political meeting at
Webster - & driven in with Joe
Alling. I woke up at 7 and turned over & in about a
minute
Mae called me to breakfast and it
was 9! We had a good breakfast (as always) and sat at the table
while John smoked & we talked lots.
John told about the meeting & the
speeches & Joe Alling and we talked our
"Sentimental Tommy" (By the way, Hilliard had a notice of it in last
night's Post-Express - in the form
