Jan. 20 Wednesday Quite an ideal winter's day. Warren Fisk walked up with me this noon. Harry Severance went to Buffalo to stay. Tonight I sewed (needed act!) while Papa read "Margaret Ogilvey". Jan 21. Thursday Gilmore went to N.Y. tonight- to stay till Monday. We voted - at gym- for the "team" to play against the Saturday night class. Ned & I play home. Mrs. Ridley & Miss Kernine guards and Miss Holmes center. Ned captain. We practiced and beat the others 12 to 4 - good playing, too. Had a good deal of fun. Lura invites me to dinner tomorrow. Jan 22. Friday Snow & colder. Called on Ned there's noon. The Posters for the Marie Antoinette Fete were judged by J.G.C., Claude & Mr. Brodhead yesterday & Ned has 2nd mention & Louise Stowell 1st prize and Miss Hastings 1st mention & Mr. Hagaman 3rd (no one knows about it tho' - except Ned's mention). Went to Lura's to dinner tonight (walked up in the snow) Mattie was there - & Mary & Chat & Helen Davis. We had an awfully jolly time. Mr. DeGraff & Dr. Ewers devoted themselves to me at dinner and afterwards to get and invitation to my "ball". They wanted to know all about the family's health - quarrelled who could sit next to me, deal for me, go home with me, put on my coat etc. etc. It was
