sat on the piazza & talked. And then we took the wheels down on the asphalt & Charlotte, Ned & I tried each other's wheels and saddles &c.&c. a long time. We (I) adjusted Charlotte's wheel for her - took on & off saddles &c. Then Lura went home & the rest of us went in the house & wiped dishes & Helen showed me the Phila. "Bowery" dance & we decided (on the steps, too) to have a bicycle club called "The Little Sunbeams" - Helen - President, Lura - Pacemaker, Charlotte - "Lady" - Ned - treasurer, & I - carpenter. Frank came home from drill & we started home (he with us) about ten. Stopped for phosphate & "vichy" at Curran & Goler's & saw the remains of some of the great bicycle mass meeting in South Park - Papa & Mama & Claude had been there - Frankstopped & talked with me a while (The Mary-Ned situation) June 5. Friday
Cyclometer 1400 (Spring St.)
Pleasant & warmer. I had a desire to ride today. At noon I went up & down Sibley Place - thro' Strathallen Park. About the campus - back thro' Prince St. & East Ave. Whistled to Ned thro' the window & walked up to the corner with her. Then rode home with Mary. At 5:30 I rode right down Main St. and to Hovey's. Then to Fahy's &c & rode home with Theo. I had a talk with Mr. & Mrs. Behn this noon & she showed me her passport. Gilmore has been busy buying a wheel lately - hasn't yet. After supper I helped Claude adjust "Leo's" handle bars & he went
