called and Mrs. Jones and later

Jones. We had a real jolly time - nuts & cider. Of
course we rehearsed the Christmas tree & poetry!
Dec. 30 WedMama's 59th birthday - $5 from Claude, a journal - from Papa & a thimble from me. Warm again
& the snow & sleighing going - or gone. Claude & I went up to Mae & John's tonight
- Mr. & Mrs. Mark Way were there. We talked -
looked at Xmas presents & drank cider (some drank
beer!) Mary looked
sweet. "Hattie
" is pretty. I didn't
like Mr. W. & Jno.
was "coloring" his new meerscham pipe. Came home at 10:30.

Went to the Behn'sXmas tree a few minutes. Home again tonight. We got
(yesterday) a cut glass dish - a beauty - for JWC's wedding present. He starts Saturday. The dish cost
$25 - Crump got it for $22.50. He
paid $3.00 & express (.25?) Martha
$3.50 Mr. &
Mrs. Gilmore $11.00 and I $5.00. His
(JW's) house is all settled &
ready & is lovely from Crump's description)

A gorgeous, balmy, sunny day. Mr.
C.C Bragdon (our cousin from Lasall
& who, by the way, was here last evening & is charming) came at 10 o'clock and Mrs. Jones
soon after & they had a 2 hour conference in the parlor in
reference to her going there next year. I went over to the Orphan Asylum (the Knights were there)
and telephoned Mrs. Pond (where Mrs. J
