the halves Rochester view marched around the field
singing & shouting -
Harold Kimball Jr & Sr. & Mr.
Pond
were beside us. When the last half was about over people began
crowding in so we couldn't see the play -
Hamilton made another goal & Rochester
got 'way up over the line - but was pushed back by the crowd - &
also made a safety, (blocked Kick) which wasn't allowed for some
reason - leaving the game 16 to 10 - It would undoubtedly have been
16 to 16 if it hadn't been for the crowd and the darkness. I rode
& walked home - both - saw the happy Hamilton's all in
bright blue, on their tallyho. Took a bath and dressed and drank two
glasses of milk & went down to Mary's where I had a cup of tea & some fruit
cake & then Mary, Nellie,
Emma & I "practiced" playing
euchre. We (Mary
& I) didn't start for Matie's until
half-past eight. Ned & Edith> got into the car with us down
town and Edith gave us some pink
carnations. The house was already full.
Charlotte (in a new pick silk waist),
Helen & Hamilton Davis went up stairs just
before us. Besides, down stairs, were Mr. & Mrs.
Booth, Mr & Mrs. Castle, Matie, Bob & Peg Hawley -
Lura, Mr & Mrs.
1896.
