May 29. Friday
Pleasant. I received an invitation to spend
Decoration Day at the Stull's - Helen & Edith
are also invited. Walked up with Mary at noon. Alice has disappointed her about going
to Mumford. At night I rode up to
Mae's to tell her I couldn't get ready
to come to dinner & then came home & had a bath & packed
my "trunk" & got on
Diana & rode up there again. Mae & I had a nice little chat
before the girls arrived. On my way up I stopped at Mary's & she
gave me a Decoration Day ribbon & was nice to me. We
girls talked till John came (from
Syracuse) rather late - so we were late to bed.
I was dead tired. They made a bed for Edith on the floor & I slept with Ned & slept pretty well - feel better this morning.
May 30th Saturday
We got up in time for an eight o'clock breakfast - if John had been ready (!) He was finally -
and we kept on enjoying ourselves after the manner of the last time.
About 9:30 or so we all got on our wheels (Edith had a rented "Majestic") & went to
South Park. It was a little
windy, but a gorgeous morning & very few people there. We
stopped under the edge of the grove & I took pictures & John & Ned took some (with my Kodak) John took a group
& I took one & we took Mae
& Ned & Edith (heads) & I took
Ned down in a pretty little place near by
