red hammock and Mrs. D. &
Kate were reading.
Charlotte was upstairs with a headache
&
Helen rubbing it.
Frank on a straw cushion, doing nothing. I came
home right down Monroe Avenue on the side-
walk. Stopped at Mary's again, 5
minutes - & was offered cigarettes!
Mary & Alice rode around the park with me. Then I came home to
refreshing bread & milk (just dark!) a chat. The
Sun - writing & a little bit of "Phroso."
June 22. Monday
Cooler and gorgeous. Shopped today & went about finding out
& for I could get my bicycle to Ogunquit. Think
I'll have to express it. "Beachlets" came
in today - just back from California. Looks pretty
well but isn't really well yet. I took him up to
see "Klemmy". Inter- viewed
Hovey and he promised to change my Kodak for a '96 one if I got
Ida MacArthur to buy one there. Had a
nice jolly chat at supper & I served & wiped dishes and then
Ned came, and before we started to ride
Edith came, & stayed till
nine or so. Rose Mills wants to get a
room at Dr. Durand's. I think it would
be nice. After Edith went we went
over to bid the Behn's
good-bye. Had quite a pleasant visit - discussed
Kodaks & Bull's
eyes (Meta takes one of each) and
had ice cream &c.&c. Mrs.
B. gave us photographs of the children &
Arnoldt Obituaries! Wrote to Alice Wolfe.
June 23. Tuesday
A lovely day. Met Charlotte at noon
& she thought it would be a nice night to go to the lake. Stopped to ask Mary & Alice, but they were going driving with Jack
1896.
