Not long after dinner (I was resting with a headache) Ned & Edith came, the former all dressed up & insisted I should take her picture - which I did - 3 times (once on the spoiled plate, however) & Edith's and Mama's. Edith went home after a while but Ned staid to supper & until after nine. She talked about Mary, of course. Wish she wouldn't. Rose Mills & Mrs. Craig called. We made an engaga- ment with Rose for next Saturday! June 15. Monday

Headachey, busy day. I went to Hovey's tonight and found Mary waiting, like a sentinel, beside my wheel when I got down stairs. I walked to South Perkins with her and then we rode home together. She told me how she & Alice & Nellie went to Churchville yesterday - on wheels - and had a fine time. (They wished I was there too!) I went upstairs & began to sew after supper, but Ned came and in- sisted I should ride. Got all ready to go to the park and then decided (I did) to go to Davis' which we did. Found Lura & Miss Hutchinson there, but Helen, Kate & Miss Lapham
had gone for a walk. We staid on the veranda and talked and when Lura & Miss H. went Ned & Charlotte went with them - for a ride. I had a nice visit with Mr. & Mrs. Davis. All the girls (walkers & riders) arrived back about the
