quite funny. Charlotte said "Now
you know how it feels to be an heiress!" We played "stop"
then told fortunes over cookies & wedding cake and didn't go
home till after eleven. The
doctor escorted Mary and me - more nice moonlight and
one tired girl, at least!
Jan. 23. Sat.
More blizzard. Busy of course. Lunched with Ned at the Thomas' this noon
discussed Europe, posters and the
Kinners
& Rose's
gown. Walked up with Edith.
Mrs J.W. was in again. We met
her Monday - and "Flip", the dog, She is quite stunning and
answers the description we hear. J.G. "didn't do a thing"! Tonight I found a batch of
fruits from Mrs. Graham and a perfect and therefore
lovely - picture of Charlotte
Iles - a "speaking likeness". Spent most of the evening
writing to her.
Jan 24. Sun
A very cold day. Fussed, read, blue printed, &c. &c. all
day. Ned & Edith came up after dinner. I got dressed (before that!)
we took each other's pictures with Edith's (Elsie
's)
camera. About five Ned & I started
for Davis's. Edith rode down town with us.
Helen D. wasn't home yet, but the rest
of the family and Louis Saunders were - Helen
came soon & we had a nice time & visit - home made chocolate
drops and a nice supper - egg sandwiches &c. Afterwards
Charlotte played & we had
singing and finally got into a dis-
