I "packed my trunk "and went with Mae. We fixed the furnace & took the silver upstairs & put a revolver on the table by the bed & locked the doors, and went peacefully to sleep. More quinine.

Nov. 18 Wed. My cold much better - A bright morning, but muddy - Mae & I had a nice little tete-e-tete breakfast and then she helped me dress my tan shoes & I bade her goodbye. Got to the office plenty early. Stopped at Gorton & McCabe's & bought a pillow for Charlotte's Xmas - Forgot to say that yester-
# 17th
day noon I staid down & went shopping with Mama bought her a new dress (brown & black) and bonnet & had lunch at Sibley's with Charella. Tonight & spent trimming over an old hat &c. Nov. 19. Thurs. Good wheeling again - except on our street. Shopped &c. At gym there was a small class. Lura was there to look on and seemed to like it. The apparatus is in town. Walked home with Ned & Rose, to see the sweet baby Rose had borrowed from the Deaf Mute Institute, for over night. Then rode up home by moonlight stopping at Mary's (she received me in full dress) to show her a picture of our flashlight group. Came home only to stay up late & read - as usual.
