Benedict. We had a right jolly dinner. Then I went over to
G & McC's
and ordered a pillow for Ned's
engagement present (gold & white) and an organdie for me.
Tonight I paid my dentist's bill, bought carnations for Mary & took them to
her - & told Nellie about the
Dr. Hayward place. After supper wrote to
Gertrude & Mrs.
Graham, finished my pillow &c. &c. &c.
Feb. 7th Sunday
Slippery cloudy day. Did up my work as soon as possible, but didn't
get down to Ned's till about 11:30 -
where I staid and made valentines till nearly two - real
funny ones some were. We cut out pictures and colored them - posting
them on colored card. It was great fun and we roared with laughter
making Mary's "Don't get Frisky" - with
a lamb "George" - and Edith's
purple cow and I made when I got home, Niagara
Falls, Buffalo bill and a ballet girl one for
her. After dinner I went back and met Edith at Ned's & we 3
walked out to Mae's &
John's. John mourned, of course, because we didn't arrive in time
to have our pictures taken - & we had a long visit (Jno. told stories) & nothing was
said about Will. Dr. Hoard came in for a few minutes
& then we had supper - "fried mush" & toast & chocolate
&c. Just as we got up form the table "Otho & Cora "
