staid here. After they went I read "When a Man's Single". Mch. 17 Tuesday Gertrude's birthday and a lovely morning up early & got down town (with Claude) about 8:20. Went up to the new bldg. & saw our lovely office and Crump took me up to the Columbia riding school on the 3rd floor, where I rode around on the dearest 1896 Columbia. Tonight I stopped at Mary's on the way home and found her sitting up reading novels. She had broken 2 strings to the piano, but played me the "Yale Twostep" on the rest. Geo. Humphrey called tonight. After he went I heard Claude's French & "jollied" Mama. Mch. 18. Wed. We discussed moving today. Next week we go. I saw Charlotte this noon. Went to the bank & stopped at Gillis', Edith called this p.m - & Ned. This evening I went down to Ned's and Mama stopped for me on the way home from prayer meeting. I was about sick with a cold, but toasted over the register till nearly 12 finishing "When a Man's Single". Quite a cute book, I think. Mch. 19. Thursday Stormed all day. Saw Charlotte at noon & we watched some cute puppies in a store window till her car came. I went shopping and bought a new brown dress - real pretty, I think Dined at Sibley's - Emma Lynch came and sat by me & talked (!) of course, Mama was at a missionary society, I sewed this evening. Papa got home. Mch. 20. Friday Snowing furiously this a.m. & the depth of snow "beats the record". Had to wade to
