forgot to say I saw Rose Mills & her cousin yesterday - just returned from Sidney. The rain spoilt the Behn's canopy of red, white & blue "Welcome Home!" but it didn't spoil the flowers & things and about 4 the wanderers returned - all well & happy & Anna

with them - also 11 trunks (they took 4). All the relatives were there to greet them and I didn't see them till evening (to speak to them) when the Orphan Asylum was illuminated and the welcoming song and "Home Sweet Home" were sung. The Capt. gave Meta a birthday ball, coming home and a big " cake with a German inscription on it. I was sick - or miserable - all the afternoon - & after we got Theo's room fixed (he moved in today - our new lodger) I sat by the grate fire & read. Also slept some on the parlor divan. This evening I arranged my Ogunquit blueprints &c. Sept. 6. Sunday. A finer day - clouds - sunshine - rain & cool breezes. Managed to take a number of flashlight prints this a.m. & took Mary's down to her before dinner. Staid 15 minutes or so, & she came to the corner with me and we both had to run for a shower. After dinner I walked down to Ned's, but she wasn't home.
