Miss Taft. Miss Holmes, Miss Kernine, Miss Englehart, Edith & I had a good time and succeeded in amusing Mary, highly. I walked home with Ned & Rose, and stopped a minute to readjust my highly dis- ordered hair - also for a chat - up late. Nov. 6. Fri. Rain this morning but better weather later - so they had the big Republican jollification parade tonight. Mary & I met Helen Davis, Lura & Miss Hutchinson

at the Y.W.C.A. rooms and went up opposite the Cutler Bldg, (which was brilliantly illuminated) to see it. It lasted an hour or more, I should think & we had quite a jolly time. It was cold & I coughed all the way home - but nothing serious. Mary was dear. Nov. 7. Saturday. Cloudy - but dry enough to use Diana again - I'm glad today. Arranged the 50 Ogunquit pictures Alice sent me in my book - &c. Martha went to the football this p.m. (tho' the weather was bad). J.G. golfed. Gilmore & I kept shop & Crump made german signs ("Willkommen"- Aus Wiesbaden & Honeoye Falls gekommen") &c. &c. for Mrs. Averell's welcome from Europe. Went home rather early. Edith invited me down - (Ned was there) tonight but I staid home & read &c. Nov. 8. Sunday. Cloudy - but nice. Lay on the divan & read all morning and at 3:30 - after
