she took me & then we rode around the small circle & I took John &Mae on their tandem on a curve. We stopped at the same place coming back, & John smoked & we talked & then we all had an idiotic ride on the merry-go-round - & came up that terrible puddley river rode on our wheels & John & I looked at the ball game (coming out) while the girls picked gorgeous boquets of clovers. The ride home was equally enjoyable & we were all nearly starved by the time the breakfast dishes were done & dinner got - a most delicious dinner too - with plenty of "atmosphere" We sat at the table an hour & I ate every- thing in sight (we all did) & then smoked (!) In the afternoon I read a story by Kipling & chatted with the girls upstairs & down - John & Mae took a bit of a nap & then appeared fresh & eager for a ride. They in- vited us very cordially indeed to stay over Sunday but we declined. About five we got fixed & packed &c & got on our wheels and rode down Brown & Frank St. way to Lorimer. John had to stop there at Will's & pump his tire. I talked to Freddie thro' a window and then we went thro' the Wray's new house. Then we got started again - for Seneca Park - but decided, at the rail road, to go to the Lake.
