was going to dinner) and they both stayed here. We were a long time at a good dinner and our guests were very entertain- ing - Mrs. J. went (for good) about 3:30 & Mr. B. about 3, and I - dressed (in my new velvet waist (a lovely moss green) & the buckle Ned gave me Xmas) - went to the Y.W.C.A. reception & "received" with Helen Davis, Carrie Gould, Bess Weaver, Miss Englehart, Miss Chace &c. Got acquainted with Mr. Welch - a Canadian, whose sister married Joe Bloss! - &c. &c. Mrs. Davis & Mama were there a little while -came home at 6:30, combed my hair, changed plates &c. and went to Mary's to the 12 P.L.L. pedro Club. Mrs. Weaver was sick, so Emma played in her place and I made a terrible score - the worst yet - but Mary was still lower! Edith got the prize. We had a real jolly time & a delicious supper (croquettes &c. - Nellie) and the President took me out. We had the poems at supper - to Hamilton, for the eggs. Besides "Cholly", Ned, Chat, Helen, Mary, Nellie & Matie all had them - & good ones afterward we had music & dancing - I took a flashlight (Lura touched it off-) & of course looked like a guy - Nellie giving me candy. Claude said, when he saw it, mine would make a good dental advertisement "This style - $8.00!
