a great play, perhaps if I hadn't seen the other one I should have liked this better - but it was pretty crude. Staid up very late reading, when I got home ("King in Yellow" &c.) Mch. 27 Friday. A pleasant & a busy day. Mary came up tonight & soon afterward Ned (& before, George Humphrey) & I showed them about. Then Mary& I went to Gorton & McCabe's to Lura's Opening & walked home. Supper was very late & we did have to hurry so to get ready for the poster show at over Church Fair. We stopped for Ned. Bertha

was in it - as "Charlotte Corday" and "Runnell's chocolate", Sam Hamilton was "Gibson", & "June Harpers", & Jno. Schroeder was "Perleycross" & Rose Mills,"Listening to the Fairies," & "Folly or Saintliness." &c. &c. all very good, under Mrs. Mulligan's direction. Was dead tired tonight. Sue Pond, Cornelia Robinson, & Henrietta Hamilton sat behind us comparing their schools - Farmington - Dobb's Ferry & Wells! Mch. 28 Saturday. Nice day. Ned is going to N.Y. tomorrow & invited me to lunch at Harned's today. We went up to her room awhile first. Had a nice time and shopped a little afterwards. I was late tonight again, Charella moved into her studio and I inspected it. It's very cozy & pretty. This evening I went down to Ned's darned a stocking for her while she packed. Then talked a little, borrowed a book & bade her goodbye. I forgot to say that Edith began working at Eastman's ("Mr. Mora's room") Thursday.
