skirts were not all in! - But how could they be? None of us made large scores. Lura got the pin - much to her delight - and we decided not to have another meeting until the Tree- the night after Christmas. It was late before we got started home - We walked and I wore my blonde wig! Col.
and Josh
left us at the corner of Troup & Fitzhugh & Chim
& Liz
walked up with me. Couldn't get to sleep. Dec. 5. Saturday I received congratulation from Mrs. MacArthur on my way down this morning (she met me and the girls had been describing my ap- pearance, evidently). At Gorton & McCabe's Peg & Marie were 'just going our to have their pictures taken at Taylor's(!) & Lura was proud - in her pin. This evening we went to "the Geisha" - Rose, Ned, MC, Charlotte, Mary & Nellie & Emma & Fay King were down in front. Also the Westervelts, Clemmy & "Eugene", Geo. Perkins & his wife etc. etc. Charlotte said she couldn't begin to tell me the compliments she had for me(!) & Ned stuck up her nose & spoke of the "Langworthy sisters". Mary also was in a complimentary mood - about my letter writing - & what she told Alfred Paul Weaver in re. A nice long letter received from Mrs. Graham. The Opera was (very good indeed) - pretty music and attractive people - scenery - songs - dancing and all - I didn't like Dorothy Morton, though. The Wilbur's come next week and Lura is happy. Frank
& Louis Saunders were waiting outside.
