Claude went to the reception. Their
house (Claude's design) is just about fin-
ished, and they are delighted with it.
Sept. 25. Friday.
At last - today the boys got their check for the City
Hall prize, which means $656.60 ($10 collection) for each G.B. & O.
I saw Ned this noon - also Mary - and called
on Charlotte. Tonight went to
Gorton & McCabe's opening &
walked down with Mary, Emma & Edith. After
suppers rode down to the Library with Claude & later Ned, Edith, the
Mac Arthurs & I chased the
"Company a Boys in Blue" around the 3rd
Ward at a great rate - Claude
& Geo. Humphrey &
Charlie King's brother were
with us, too. Frank Davis was in line -
and numerous others. We went to Mary's
afterward & heard her play
& sing &c.
Sept. 26. Sat.
A pleasantish morning. Showers now & then, however. Everyone
went to the
Country club this p.m. (J.G's Silver Wedding tomorrow) Martha went driving &
Gilmore & I kept office. First we
watched hundreds of bicyclists start on a run to
Fairport (in the rain - but it didn't rain
afterwards) Then Billy Orchard came
in with a box of candy - and we devoted ourselves to that and
visited with him - immaculate in light suit-red necktie.
