She & Emma start for Stony Lake tomorrow. Mary walked part way up home with me. Tues. Aug. 11 Frank Davis telephoned me this morning that Helen wanted me to come to tea, so I rode up there tonight and found her and Kate & Mr. Davis - all so nice as ever - and had a pleasant "tea" with Frank & Charlotte added. Mrs. D. is at Hamilton's. We had a very nice talk out on their pleasant piazza, a chance I don't often have - to visit with them alone. Frank & Kate rode home with me. Wed. Aug 12th Edith came up at 5 tonight to tell me Ella Wray was dead. She has been very ill with typhoid pneumonia for some time and such heat was too much. It's very sad all the family depended on her so. This noon I rode down Plymouth Ave. with "Jack" Ballagh who caught up with me. Tonight I wrote to Alice and sent my photographs for inspection - 8 doz. large small and 3 doz. large and no "failures" (according to the photographer) except the exposures which Mrs. Perrin & Alice "didn't" make - Pretty good luck ! Friday Aug. 14. Claude & I went to see the Wilburs again tonight. "Olivette". I didn't like it very well but was amused by various things. The big dog "St. Omar" made a nice picture as "Only Me". There was a series & a man sang the pathetic (?) verses!
