was snowing and blowing here and looked quite desolate. Mama was waiting for us, of course, with a nice breakfast, and we spent the morning, talking writing, unpacking& getting rested. Ned came up right after dinner and said Charlotte wanted us to come over - so I got ready & went, tho' I was tired. We went over to Glasgow St. to take the car and hadn't been at C's long before Mary came. She had met Mama, who told her where we were. We had a real nice, jolly visit with the Davises and a nice supper together & didn't go home till 9 o'clock. Mch. 2. Monday Blizzardy & uneventful. Very busy at office. Mr. Davis called is very sick Ned called & I saw Mary. Read magazines tonight. Mch. 3-4 Tuesday & Wednesday Still busy & nothing new. See Ned about every day & Edith & Mary come up now & then. Edith, Ned & Frederika came up tonight (Wednesday) & we discussed blue prints etc. Mch. 5 Thursday Sunshine at last. Ned went down to Edith's with me tonight before supper, to try on my new silk waist I got in N.Y. Ned invited me to her room for a chafing dish supper, but I didn't go, so E. did & I came down later and had a little lunch & when Edith went chatted an hour with Ned. We met Mae & Jno. at 6. & they invited us up Monday night. Stopped at Mary 's on my way down to Ned's. Saw Nellie - just returned from Worcester. Lura, who came to spend the evening & discuss N.Y. Mch 6-7 Friday & Saturday Uneventful days. J.W. is in N.Y. again & I'm busy sending out "Minor Italian Palaces"
