went too, and Ruth and at Lookout Mrs. Reading intro-duced us to Mr. Lowell who also went. His daughter too, to sketch. The walk across the moorland to "Perkins'es Cove" is beautiful - Wiltsie looked most pictur- esque in white ducks & slouch hat but the sun was "under" and my domino didn't go, so I didn't get his picture - We went down on to the rocks. Mr. L, Wiltsie and I in "sneakers" or "gums" as Mr. Lowell calls them and had a great sport. I caught eleven fish ("cummers") - got two more out of the water - and caught the second largest. Ruth

caught 11 - and the largest. We got more than we could carry home, in all (each of the others caught less than we two.) Mrs. Lowell got a big "rock cod" to the water's edge. 5 or 6 pounder. It was great fun - clinging to the barnacled rocks and feeling the fish tugging at the clam-bait and then a twitch and he was landed - time and lack of bait only prevented further slaughter. Got back (meeting Mrs. R, who had been "biceecling" with Mrs. Day) in time to dress before supper and sat long at table with Wiltsie and Alice. Afterward was talking
