July 24. 1896. Friday A lovely morning - the day growing cooler and cloudier as it advanced - but nice. None of "us" went in the sea today. Miss Bradley was busy packing most of the morning, the Perrins & Millers went to Wells Beach on their wheels and back by the beach, where, we learned at dinner - they hired a hand- organ man to play and danced the Two- step there. "George
" also played "monkey". Two hand organ men came to our piazza - where we spent much of the morning. Mrs. Reading was down and when Wiltsie had crated the wheel we had Belfast Ginger Ale and Apolinaris. Between times I rode to "Jacobses" on an errand, and 'way down to the sweet-grass meadow - to getal get a beauty boaquet for Miss Bradley's parting gift. She left soon after twelve - Wiltsie drove her over to York. Alice and I walked to the little burying ground with Mrs. Reading and had quite a chat about books and things - sitting on the stone wall till dinner time, where the "bicyclers returned" entertained us. Miss Iles had been 'way up to Agamenticus, all alone between ten and one! After dinner I wrote pages and pages to my family - till Alice came to say Wiltsie was back and wanted me to go fishing.
