stuff in the further room - a notable increase of wash drawings over pen & ink. One immense water color plan, Ed Nolancouldn't leave - in his amazement & of the amount of work (& paint!) There were memorial alcoves to the architects who have recently died - Notably Hunt

&c.&c. We went upstairs, the last thing, and saw the prize competition drawings for a railway station entrance & heard a group of students getting up some kind of a party - or a lark. The young lady artists were numerous and interesting. Their comments were also numerous and interesting. It was a pleasant day - but hazy. We all walked thro' 59th St. (the boys stopped to see the Savoy) and finally brought up at a little "oyster & chop house - where we had quite a Bohemian lunch back in a medieval corner looking on to a greekish court. I regaled on blue points on the half shell. This rested us some and when we took the Madison Avenue car (all but Ed. Nolan) we really felt like tackling the Metropolitan Museum, which we did, later. The boys got off when they saw a house they liked and I met them up in the park. Tried to take their pictures (they looked so much like the 3 guards- men, now & then) but it was very hazy. Of course the museum was delightful. There are a lot of new casts (copies of Ancients) much like those at Boston. They have a Winged Victory now, but not very well placed. Upstairs the Art students were still copying - as tho' they hadn't left
