She has 4 charming children & a nurse here. Her friend is Mrs.Perrin, who is large & jolly & also has two children. Mr. Perrin is nice. He wears Knickerbockers & has a smooth face. Helped me uncrate my wheel. Mr. Miller ("Henry") comes Monday or Tuesday. Miss Bradley - Alice's Syracuse friend is staying on here. She is blonde & fat & jolly & eats with a hearty appetite. Then there are a Mr. & Mrs. Ranney & a fat man (Ansley?) and his wife and the dog- "Sport"- a collie - and Miss Field and Miss Price(?) who live in another cottage but take their meals here. The mail comes about half past eight and then everyone goes to bed. The moonlight on the ocean was so delightful from my window that I sat up sometime after the light was out. I wrote, before, to Mother. July 19th Sunday A gorgeous morning. Woke up about 7 after a night's sound, dreamless sleep and found the sun shining in my lovely window and the tide beginning to go out. The bathing goes by that and 10 o'clock was the proper time today. I wrote a little, after dressing - another breakfast bell found us all ready, about half past eight. Afterwards we sat on the piazza in hammocks & things and lovely baby Jeanette was there - a sweet child. Soon Gurdon appeared in his little red bathing suit and red hat, and everybody got ready & went over
