They were both very pretty - cold cream & salve dishes with silver tops. Frank came for Helen & "Henry
" for Matie. We girls walked from Court Street. By the way, I sent back Frank Decker's comet pin last week & got sent a sort of a pathetic letter in reply - about it's being a tie of our friendship &c. So I told him he might give it back to me sometime. My old Sept. 23. Thurs. tooth kept me awake all night & bothered me all day. Con tried to jolly it away - but couldn't. Dr. S. painted it with iodine & I came home & went to bed about 3:30 & slept like a brick till seven - No wonder - for I heard the clock strike every half hour last night. Have been writing &c. tonight Sept. 24, Friday This evening Mama & the MacArthur's & May Rogers & Edith & I were all at Ned's to see her trousseau - which is lovely. Her organdie is a "dream" - 96 yards of lace 80 of [illegible] & 5 bolts of ribbon &c. We coaxed her to be married in it. Everything was as pretty as it could be. I rode down of Diana, but walked home with the girls. Sept 25. Sat. Lovely - Stopped at Ned's this noon & had a little goodbye in it - she leaves Fitzburgh St. tonight. She gave me a piece of her dress & a ring - an olivine & pearls - and a little framed picture. I was just starting away from the office this p.m. when I saw Helen Davis & she invited me up to supper with her - so I went. We rode up the
