Helen insists I shall come up & play Pedro to- morrow night (she asked me before) we had 8 there & they played basketball and I was umpire & looked on for the first time - before it was over I ached to play! Staid up till midnight to begin this old journal - Why do I keep 'em? Mch. 2. Tuesday. Busy. Tonight I put on my black silk waist and skirt and my pretty white fichu and went to Davis's in the snow, to the "party". Mary & Warren & Lura, Mr. DeGraff were there & all the Davis's - I played first with Mr. Davis against Charlotte & Lura, & we made 41 points! Not such good luck later, however. Mr. D. got the 1st prize, & Mary (flowers). Then we danced - Helentaught me the two-step and sat down & talked and ate "bung-bungs". I enjoyed myself. Mch. 3. Wed. Staid home this evening & read "Abbe Constantine" etc. Mch. 4. Thurs Stopped for Ned on my way to "gym" tonight but she was busy preparing for the "12 Perfect Little Ladies". Edith nor Rose didn't go either. I am so sorry for Helen Davis. I know she is hopelessly in love with Murray Crosby and he is quite unworthy of her. I am sure She felt badly tonight and talked to me about him, as usual. She is a dear girl and would make a sweet wife for the right man. I hope she'll get over this - but it has lasted a long long time. We didn't play b-ball.
