My office mahogany had been shined up & (I really didn't get down to work till afternoon when Martha staid home. She goes to the island tomorrow.) Tonight Mary, Emma, Edith & Ned came & made me go down to Mary's and we talked & laughed & told experiences, and then Mary sang her new songs "Elsie from Chelsea" and "A Hot Time" and then 8 of us (Alice, Nellie & Ida too) went up to Tremont St. Corner & I treated to grape phosphate, and then six (not Alice & Emma) went to Teall's & Ned treated to ice cream & finally we went home! Aug. 4, Wed. Busy. Martha gone (The Cutlers too, I'm glad to say) and I had a swell lunch with Gilmore, saw Ned & Matie A. at noon and stopped at Ned's half an hour before supper. Con spent the evening here & Claude came home from Forest Lawn (Bang's) at 9:30 and took Con up to "Harvey's" to see some plans. 10 p.m. Aug. 12. Thurs.

Thursday (5th) Ned, Edith, Mary & I rode to Matie A's and to Charlotte's, Friday I went down to Edith's, Saturday Con took me to see the Veriscope - Corbett-Fitzsimons fight - very interesting as to manner (not matter) and then we rode out to the Country Club afterwards & I had a chat with "Billie O" in front of
