It was very prettily arranged and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Edith, Harry & Ida Joiner were there. Frank Davis - the nice - homely - Witherspoon boys - The Cross family - Bess Weaver & Mil Perry - I met him and he sang "Pretty little Yaller girl" and "Mrs. 'Enry 'Awkins." Adolphe Gracey sang an Irish song - & Maud Richards (in a fiendish red waist) sang too. We had sherbert & "conversation" and it was very nice. Frank came home with me, stopping for sherbert vichy at Curran & Goler's. We found Con here. June 9. Wednesday. Still rainy - a regular soaker. The "12 Perfects" were invited to Mrs. Weaver's to tea tonight to then to the Wilbur's (whether or no) I walked up with Matie (in a lull in the storm) and I had a nice chat with Charlotte and I took Mary out. The supper was very delicious and (of course) jolly. The Wilburs were quite endurable - I sat - by special arrangement - between Helen Davis & Matie & directly in front of Charlotte. It poured coming home. Luther Foote & bride were in the car. He met her Apr. 27th & married her June 3rd (?) having only seen her twice beforehand! June 10. Thurs. It has begun trying to be pleasant again & was a lovely evening - Con was up for me but I decided - or had promised - to go with Ned to Davis' - which I did. Mary & Alice were there - but soon left. Lura was there
