Tonight I went up & Mrs. Castle's & made my dinner call & spent the evening reading & writing. Lew Jones goes to Europe (for the Eastman's) Saturday. Papa went to Syracuse - no Utica - today, Con & Claude invited me to dine with the Vagabonds. Claude has a lovely little poem in "Lotus". I forgot to say that yesterday Mama came down & she & Bragdon & Hillman viewed the firemen's parade from our windows. It was quite a pretty sight. The horses especially. Oct. 20-21 - Wed. & Thurs. Uneventful days. Early to bed, etc. Rain too, And we had to travel in street cars. After much urging by some of the Vagabonds I did go to the grille room to lunch with them Thursday noon. Con saw me down & Claude escorted me in and I sat next to Mr. Elwood and opposite George & Harvey at the left. They were very funny. We had rose colored matches for the cigarettes and perfumed water in the finger- bowls (Harvey wanted a foot bath too) and
