O'Geran and then I went to "Butlers" & got film & treated the girls to phosphate (Susie Moulther was with us then. She's engaged to an Andover fellow.). Then the car came & we four went out to Beach Oswego & back - quite a pleasant ride. The Lake was blue & beautiful. We got off at the new County Clerk's Office & Emerson showed us through. Mr. Stowell's office upstairs is fine - overlooking the lake. Went to Mame's to dinner & then "packed" - or she did - as she's gon accepted eagerly my invitation to come home with me for over Sunday. Of course Trudy saw us to the boat. We saw Mrs. Drury just starting for Eva's, as we came along - & Florence

with her wheel. The boat was late & we were a long, time on the dock - watching boys in flat bottomed boats & a canal boat un- loading coal &c. Finally the "Arundell" came - & such a pale looking crowd got off! & we got on and waved good-bye to dear Trudy& Clara Stowell & Alice Gaylord & the Chestnuts &c. The voyage home was simply delightful. The Lake lovely in every way. We supped on board & Clifford Shaw & some interesting Canoers
