Feb. 2. Wed. We resumed our Pedro club tonight. All the 12 but the brides - whose places are filled by Emma Mac & May Townsend. Had a jolly meet - this cold night - and of course Mary captured the prize by a big score. It did seem good to all meet again. Chat & I got into a corner & talked "Europe" & Mary joined us &c. Afterward Lura told me Mary said (she was there to dinner) that she didn't care about the Davises so much but if I went she should be heart-broken if she didn't go too. &c.&c. & Nellie said she "knew Mate would cry all summer" if I went without her! This is a very pleasant surprise for me. We had salad &c. for supper & decided on a ring for a prize. The girls got the 11:30 car & I staid all night with Helen & got up Feb. 3. Thurs. to a beautiful sunny winter morning & the 8:30 car down town. The world looked all right today & I did want to go to Europe. We are busy with the prospect of moving the office.
