It simply poured when we walked up home
(we were there a long time) Mrs. Jones
was here to supper and sometimes afterwards and was very entertaining. I sewed (or ripped) & read.
June 30 Wed.
Warm again - but no rain - Con came
up after supper but I washed dishes & didn't ride. Mr.
& Mrs. Thomas sailed - on the "Paris". I
rode down to Mary's a little while
and then came home & read & took a bath &c.
July 1. Thurs
Busy day & quite warm. I forgot to say that late last evening
Mama & I went over to the
Station & saw Gertrude
go thro' on her way west. Had 5 minutes chat with her & took her
some nastertiums. Tonight Ned,
Edith, Mary & I rode to the park - also Claude & Con. We sat up on the highest "sunset seat" &
watched the sunset & told fortunes &c. Staid till the dampness
drove us home - to eat cherries & talk
July 2. Fri.
Warmer yet - & busy day. At 6 o'clock
Ned, Edith, Mary & I rode
to the lake - on the East side
boulevard - and had supper with the Ladies Scottish Society.
The Misses Morton were very attentive &
supper was good. Then went down & waited for the ferry & took the
8:20 train home. The Lake was
very still & the sky warm. The North King coming in fast. Read
