Settled down to business once more & find I still have the knack
of it. A pleasant visit at Davises
with Mama last night & a busy
day today - The beauty of leaving home is that everyone seems so glad to
see me & says such nice things & tells me I took fine and
all that. Sue was
here yesterday to lunch and tonight I've been fixing my room in
anticipating Kate
's
coming.
Aug 20 '98. Saturday
Busy week. Last Saturday Con wanted
me to ride to the lake, but Diana wasn't in good shape & I hadn't a
good skirt, so I decided to
13th
go by car. First went to Lura's - to
take her the turquoise ring & she was delighted with it. Then
came home & received Mary - all dressed up in her Paris ribbon - she came to
bring back the fifty dollars - but only left $30- a Am. ex. check
& for $20 had to be cashed. I met
Con on the Ontario piazza & we walked out on the pier & saw
a lovely sunset & walked in & saw a man perform on a ball on a
spiral & still the boat didn't come - but finally it did &
we got into the train - long & full - & missed the girls till we
got to the Central Station & there were Kate
