& came in for visit & we "swapped experiences" &c. He did want to go to the bay & after awhile started off - alone. I kept on with the pineapple & this old journal. Monday 5/24. Staid down to lunch & shopped today - and home tonight. Con was up. Tuesday 5/25. Cleared off lovely but the last thing this p.m. Mary got me to go to the "Royal Middy" tonight - with her. The Davises and Lura & the rest were here - Kohule was rather funny. The rest disgusting. Wed. 5/26. Tonight I had a ride to the Park with Ned (who came for me) and Claude. Thus. May 27 Pleasant & warmer - Grand bicycle parade tonight. Con, Claude, Ned, Mary, Alice, Edith & I went to the park & sat on benches watching the crowd - the decorated wheels etc. etc. Con made funny remarks, of course, called all the gray headed men "century plants". &c We staid tell nearly dark & then rode around the circle and out - meeting hundred & hundreds of wheels. Had to walk a little way. The girls went down to Mary's corner & asked us to come, but Con & I went up & got Mama & we stood in the park & watched the parade and the decorated lantern-trimmed wheels. Then walked down & found the Davis's had just gone - I rode down Adams St. & overtook & saw them on their car. Then we walked home - Con staid & read a love story. His "Deedie" goes to Alaska next week & he feels quite badly. He told me a good deal about their good times last summer and her grandmother - and himself. Friday. May 28. (new tire) Rain today - I had to have a new tire on Diana (put on Saturday) Tonight we went to Matie's & Mr. Gilmore's Mother Goose show at Park Avenue
