Mch. 20. Saturday
Cleared off cold & beautiful this p.m. A gorgeous sunset which I
saw while I walked up the avenue with Edith. After supper (or during it)
Ned came up and we went down to see
Emma, who is better but looks rather
"peaked". Washed dishes &c. When I got home. Read '93.
Mch 21. Sunday.
A nice day today - cloudy mostly. Mary
took her first bicycle ride of the season & came here &
spent an hour or so with me & asked me to come down this p.m.
Con was here to dinner and we sat
at dinner a long while. Afterwards he & I wiped dishes for Mama and ate candy. He then went with
Claude to call on Charella. I read till 5 or so & then went
down to Mary's on Diana. Emma
& Nellie
were home & pretty soon Mary,
Ned & Edith
came. They had been up here again. They teazed me to go to church in
the evening, but I didn't. Got in the couch-corner & read '93.
Mch. 22. MondayPapa's & Mama's 37th Wedding anniversary. Bread plates - dollars -
studs - Shapespere's &c. Tonight Minstrel
Show at the Lyceum.
Claude made a poster for it which Gilmore
said was "the only good thing about it" - And it was - nearly. The
show was pretty tedious, tho' Mama
& Con
