& then he came home with me. I got a bad cold waiting on the corner for the car. Dec. 3. Friday Just sick with a cold today - but managed to get down to the office. Loafed & read "Madelon" tonight. Dec. 4. Sat. Staid down this noon. I called on Frederika and later lunched with the Vagabonds. There were 13 at table! - George - (Mr. Elwood, Mrs. Dean, Mrs. Bangs, Claude, Mrs. Elwood, Jno. Stull, Mr. Grierson, Harvey, Mr. Huntington, Mrs Edern

, Con & I. We had a "long & interesting session" prolonged down stairs with Mr. Bangs & Papa added. Later they decided to write a Vagabond novel of 18 chapters - Claude starting off! "Helped" Harvey & Miss Stowell hang Black & White pictures for the Exhibition tonight. Also called on Lura. Dec. 5. Sun. Gray day. Felt rather bad & so did Con - who came up with "Misery" (the banjo) this morning & staid all day. Read some - was invited to Davis's to dinner - but only some chicken broth at house - a went later. Claude wrote his first Vagabond Chapter, which is very funny. Spent the p.m. in the Davis's big easy chair - talking & listening & looking at the fire - & enjoyed myself. Also staid to
