ice cream &c. & talked of course - Sunday
was lovely. Went to church (in my black organdie) to St.
Andrews first & then on to St.
Paul's - walked over - Met the Meyers
talked all the afternoon & some of the evening.
went Early
Monday. I went to the station & Trudy to Charlotte. Saw
Aroix, who seemed perfectly
delighted to see me &
16th
other people likewise. Tuesday I was sick
abed all day with cholera morbus - In fact came home Monday night - Most unusual
for me - Trudy sweetly took care of me. Came
down stairs in the evening & Con
was here - very funny. I began a pasted steamer letter to the girls.
It's quite taking.
Mary was taken very sick Sunday night -
mostly her "nerves" - Nellie tells
me how bad she has been all summer and it brings back the night
before I went away and her confessions to me up in my room.
17th
I am so sorry for the dear girl - Wednesday
morning Trudy went home & I
went back to the
18th
office. Edith was up this evening.
Thursday
cousin Annie Bragdon Winslow & little
Harold
came - They are real nice - We had a delicious supper & a
pleasant evening - Con was up & I
worked on my steamer letter - which is coming out very well and is quite
funny, everybody thinks.
