July 5 Tues. Cooler & cloudy in the morning - Everyone who had to work was glad - & more too. Today was The Behn's great lawn party & the house & grounds were decorated beautifully & the tennis court floored for dancing & the back lawn canvas-roofed for Teall's supper. They used our house for the men's dressing room &c. &c. Of course we all went. I wore my new organdie - which I think is very pretty with the beautiful green ribbons which Matie & Lura gave me. Meta looked very pretty & so did her friend Besse Brochat from Buffalo. One boy had on a negligee shirt & a dress suit! Con came very late - having had one of this periodical bicycle accidents - scraped elbows &c. I had to have ice cream &c. again with him - tho' I'd had it with Mr. Lansing. Watched some serio-comedies - The Maurers and The Turpins - Davises &c. Went with Con to the street car where Mrs. Maurer read his palm very truly. Of course we had to be about the last ones in bed & it was three when I turned in! July 6. Wed. A holiday. Started for Helen Davis' - via. Ned's tonight - but didn't after supper I went to the park with Claude & we sat & talked on sunset hill till
