Cloudy & some wind - Con went to
Despatch to the Barbacue "to get the wishbone
from the fatted calf" he said. He was going to have conductor pipes
on his arms & a gargoyle on each elbow "to carry off the gravy "
&c. We saw hundreds of wheelmen start, this p.m. Claude's "Arts & Crafts"
society have an exhibition
up in the
Cutler Bldg. and a stunning French
poster in the hallway & Gilmore
said he was going to get the fat man circus poster to put with it.
to draw a crowd! After supper (8 o'clock) I took a little ride & came
back & read. Then Con
came and told us about the Barbacue & I began my new book
"Proverbs of Constantine I" 1st "If you're hungry, don't
go to a barbacue." Then I got on my wheel to take a hat to
Mrs. Cumming's little girl & Con went too - & we decided to go down town & get
some more tickets on a Spaulding wheel, at
The Power's Hotel
drugstore - so we did - Mary Dodds was
in there. Then we called on Frank
Davis & then we meet up Main St.
and got hot popcorn - before all that crowd - & rode home eating it!

Pleasant but rather windy. Con came
