few minutes. We went down, finally & got Nellie Mac & went over to the 10 cent circus in the Triangle. It was great fun - Cute performing dogs - who boxed & waltzed & jumped &c. slack wire men, strongmen, tumblers, flying trapeze & all the usual delights. Found the Myers - coming out - & they were very hilarious - Edith left us (found Freddie) at the 4 corners - & Ned, Nellie & I sang "Sweet Marie" for a serenade at the Mac Arthur's & the heads all popped out of the windows & Mary called us "Beauts." Another late going to bed - & so it goes! June 5. Saturday. Got up early but couldn't eat any breakfast. Rode up to Mrs. Wagner's (met Harvey Ellis) and worked hard till half past one & I felt sick and weary - Gilmore chatted a minute & Con took my letters & mailed them & made me sit down & rest (& talk to him) 15 minutes. He's going to Conesus, but doesn't seem to want to much - just in the mood, I think to have an unexpected good time. Helen Davis telephoned me they wanted to start at 3 - but I had only from quarter of two to ride home - eat & dress (I didn't again) stop for Ned & Edith & get over there (4 miles) but wasn't much late. It looked like showers but cleared up
