1897.
Sept. 28 Tuesday Lovely day - Claude went to N.Y. with Mr. Brewster last night & is going to Boston, too, probably. Con has an awful cold but is very chatty. He was here all day Sunday - but I wasn't home, of course. Tonight the "Twelve Perfects" went to Roger's for Pedro - I went with Mary & Nellie. The fact that Mrs. Weaver brought two guests with her rather spoiled the fun. Charlotte & Lura got the prizes. They had "music" too - [illegible] song by Fred Rogers - & others by one of Mrs. W's young ladies. Late home. Sept. 29, Wed. A gorgeous day. JW's in New York & I'm busy (& tired.) Rode up with Mary this noon. After supper Cad Chapin came in and spent an hour with me. She is a "bicycle fiend" and says "Frank
" has become one too. Sept. 30. Thurs. Tonight was Edith's supper (or Elsie Wray's). I went home early and dressed - and arrived with Mrs. Weaver and her friends the Packards(!) Emma and Fredricka filled out the fourth table. May Rogers was half an hour late - but looked very pretty when she came We had supper at seven. Matie & Ned sat at the head of the table - with big white bows on their chairs and roses in front of them - pink & white - Mabel and Nellie (The "would be's") sat at the foot. I sat between Charlotte & Fredricka & opposite Mary. The plates each had pictures of Ned & Matie on - tied together with white ribbons - and the supper was very elegant.
