Jan. 24 Monday More "Vanity Fair" and more duets by the "Brutal Brothers" Bragdon & Hillman. We've rented our offices to J & M.

Jan. 25 Tues. Helen came glowing to me this noon to tell me "Charlottehad asked C.L." to go to Europe & he took it like an angel and was delighted to let her go &c.&c. What a relief to the dear girl - now if J.G. would let me go! The girls really seem to want me to very much. I had second long letter from Maude - and I owe her one! Tonight was such a snowstorm - lovely but thick - only a small audience to hear about Algerian cities. I came home wet and very sleepy indeed! Jan. 26 Wed Still storming, but stopped in the forenoon. Arno & Theo didn't get in till 4:30 this a.m. from a sleigh ride to the Forest House. Papa didn't go down town at all this a.m. read tonight. Con here. Jan. 27. Thurs. Another Burton Holmes lecture about the Oases and a wintry night. I learn that Kate Stebbins, Mary Dodds and six other girls are going to Europe with Mrs. Montgomery in April (30th). Italy, Switzerland &c. Mrs. Granger Hollister & others were talking about it & others have told me.
