(between daylight and dusk - with little street lights and moonlight
thrown in) and home a few minutes afterward and such
a good supper after the frosty spin after supper I dressed and
started right off for Mrs. Rose's
to take my dress from Ned had a few
more presents - a telegram from Mr.
Dymond
- & was coming home Tuesday morning - Then I
went down to Lura's to a meeting of the
Twelve Perfects
and Elsie Wray & Miss
Hutchinson. We had each a little satchet-bag made of
some of the bride's outfit-silk - mine of her green & white striped
silk - Mrs. Warren
had phenominal luck & took first prize &
Charlotte the booby.
Charlotte was very sweet to me - invited me up
tomorrow & is going to lend me the "Peter Sterling" man's
new book with "Maisie" for a heroine. At supper we
found the last 12 P. flashlight picture prettily framed - on
our plates & we were very hilarious - even making "Charlie" the
colored waiter - grin now & then.
Mabel recited something about "The can
outlives the lobster, the goat outlives the can" &c. & we
staid till 11:30 and went home in gorgeous moonlight in a car with some
fractious young men in it but Elsie
was chaperoning us this time.
The air tonight - and today - is like liquid
silver.
Cyclom 4000.
