and I kissed it & looked at baby clothes & at pictures taken Matie's wedding day - and finally we went & Mrs. Arnold with us going back home after six weeks here with Hattie. We went down another way - in a Main Street car & left it at Glenny's, where we met the girls & shopped some - I brought a lovely silk Roman- striped blanket - a perfect darling - for a dollar! Mary treated to hot chocolate &c.&c. & then we took the trolley for the falls - an hour & a half ride thro' pretty streets in Buffalo - Tonawanda - Echota, The Power House - site of the Pan American exhibition etc. to the Falls - lovely in the young moonlight. Ned is right on the corner of Erie Avenue & Sixth St. and her big front room is beautiful with pictures, rugs, books, casts - and her individuality. I won't try to describe it for I tried to get pictures. Will came soon & we had dinner with the Campbells, "The Old Man", "Mother", "Son" & "Daughter" as they call each other - an agreeable scotch family with quite a romance con- nected with them - which I can't put down here (it's late) about nine (after quite a chat) Will's friend Carl Tucker (picked out for Mary) came & we all took a walk down to the falls & came back to crackers & cream cheese, pretzels and beer - till quarter of twelve (much conversation also) Then Ned &
