Sunday May 15th A rainy morning & a pleasant afternoon & evening - the "Herald" said this morning that it was tho't Corporal Davis didn't pass his physical examination at Camp Black - but I dare not hope so! Claude reads to me while I washed dishes - this gray morning - Then I went off in the rain to Church - It was a sad day for Dr. Millard & a sad sermon - The anniversary of his wife's death & Mrs. James Hart - that lovely woman - died Friday. Walked up with Mary & Nellie & Edith, who were there. After dinner I spent the afternoon on the divan window seat - reading "Guerin" & the conflicting & perturbing papers - N.Y. - & Rochester - They say the 65th 2nd & 3rd (our) regiments are to follow the 71st to Florida. Lura & Mrs. Weaver came up for a call & later I rode down to Mrs. Thomas' to see Ned - Edith was there, of course & she & Ned walked up home with me & staid an hour or so. It's sad for her to have "Billy" at "the wars"- and oh I shall be so thankful to know what we are going to do - & whether Frank has passed. These are perturbing times & I'm in a "Stony Lake" mood tonight. Partly from a train of tho't which started by "Thymert" in Guerin reminding me of Hartley of Buckhorn
