have taken quite a fancy to him, & he likes them. We went to the
station & saw Claude off (on "Diana") riding about the yards with him while
they switched. Then we rode to Main St. looked in
show windows - and had ice cream soda & when we got home
Meta called us over to have some
cooking school products "heavenly hash" (fruit jelly) and lemon cake -
very good
Theo served & Mrs. B. told about the "Spiehlec
dinner". We came home (about 10) Con staid till 11 and then rode (he told me later) till
12! I took a bath & needed rest - later.
June 4. Friday.
Pleasanter than yesterday - which was "muggy" - Gilmore is to have his vacation the 14th. He
told me about his conversation with J.G. & J.G's
worriments because of what he thought he discovered Decoration
Day. Such a funny man. Con
had a letter saying his sister Jennie
had peritonitis but
was better. Rode up with Mary this noon & tonight
Ned & Edith & I tried to decide where to go - but disagreed,
so sat on our front steps till nearly 8. Con was up a
