(in a
pink shirt, magenta & white suspenders beribboned hat &
giddy rose colored - red & brown embroidered slippers) talked to
us - & the children and after dinner Mr. Graham
brought Mr. Dymond
down and
introduced us & he reclined on the ground - in white hat &
blue shirt & grass linen trousers & a big pipe - & talked and
entertained us. He has a nice voice and I like him - would like to
see his wife with him - Such a fine couple. His cousin Hilda - (whom I like) and her friend
Maud (with dimples & a
Louise Stowell lisp) came too &
we talked till the supper bell. After supper we had quite a long
call from Mrs. Rose,
Prof. R. & his sister, Flav,
Ralph, Gray & Howard
True. They want us to go up to Eel
Creek
picnicing tomorrow. When they'd gone I sat on the piazza & wrote
3 letters to Claude, Mama & Con. The girls went to bed early - & I to my room.
Listened to the Dymonds singing and finish- ed
reading "Father Stafford" Chat
gave me.
July 19, Monday.
A lovely breezy morning and cooler. We had a siesta on the piazza
with the Hilda
