Orient Harris. Yesterday p.m. Con took Mama & I out to the Boswell house on Bates St. It is fine. J.W. came back today. Claude was in Geneseo. Yesterday he & Harvey Ellis made the lovliest pyro-color panel (Claude's invention) C. pyro-graved Harvey's picture on wood. Then Harvey colored it and Claude varnished - or oiled it and it's a beauty. They've going to send it to the League. Since I began writing, the family have come home and we've had a resumé of the lecture by Claude. When one gets to be thirty, one is bound to think a good deal about the theory of life. And I confess things have been bothering me a good deal lately and I wouldn't pass thro' again what I have the last month for a good deal of money - I'm beginning to see through, tho' - and if I can only stop thinking about my shortcomings & devote myself to helping others, &c. Yesterday was a lovely day - Mary & Ned went to N.Y. on the Lehigh last tonight I went down to Sea Breeze - or rather the White City at one o'clock - on the car - it I was too windy to ride "Diana".
