Nov. 15 MondayHelen telephoned Mama I was going to stay all night so I
did - sleeping with her. It was a gray morning, but I rode Diana down - scorching,
and did errands etc. at noon. To-night Con
came up and took a banjo lesson of Claude.
Nov 16. Tues.
Rain today. We are busy with circulars.
Con was up tonight to "practice". Took
another lesson.
Nov. 17. Wed.
Snow & rain & generally horrid. Staid home and sewed and
wrote &c. tonight. Helen
has
invited us to spend the Sunday after Thanksgiving in
Niagara Falls
and Edith is invited too. I guess
she'll go to Buffalo with us.
Nov. 18. Thurs.
Snowy still, this morning - but rode my wheel once more this p.m.
Went to the YWCA Donation
to supper - we sat so - Papa, Helen D, Claude, M.B.Frank D.Mrs. D.Mama & Harry
Backus. Saw DeGraff
and others I knew afterward. Then walked down to
Edith's where Mary & Nellie came soon and we played pedro and ate candy till after ten o'clock.
Nov. 19. Fri.
Another snowy morning. I lunched with the
Vagabonds this noon -
MacDonnell, George, Harvey,
Claude, Con & Mrs Bangs & Papa. It was real jolly & they were very
witty. Afterwards I sat by George's fire a little while & listened to
Harvey while Con held Mrs. Bangs' hand (!) by
request & Henry Clay (his bust) looked on with a
sinister smile. Then Con & I walked up
the hill together. He came up for another banjo tonight
Nov. 20. Sat.
Finer today. I met Harvey this
morning early & he wanted me to lunch with them again, but
1897.
